A holiday destination for an active experience

The well-signposted hiking trails are as varied as the landscape itself: Climb a three-thousand metre peak at alpine heights, leisurely hike across alpine meadows, stroll along historic promenades or wander through green forests. Over 70 kilometres of marked hiking trails lead through Tirolo and the Texelgruppe National Park – and leave nothing to be desired. And you can leave your car in the car park, as public transport takes you in all directions from the hotel! Uphill: The "Hochmuth" cable car takes you in 5 minutes from Tirol (650 m) up to Hochmuth (1,400 m), into a magnificent mountain landscape with a unique panoramic view. Or down into the valley: take the Merano-Val Tirolo chairlift from Tirolo to Merano with panoramic views of the spa town.

Challenging courses in alpine surroundings, a soothing climate with a Mediterranean influence: the landscape around Tirolo is a true paradise for golfers. Golf enthusiasts will find the best conditions here and have three things to look forward to:

• In the 18-hole golf course Passeier.Meran, approx. 15 km from Tirolo
• At the 9-hole Lana Golf Club, approx. 16 km from Tirolo
• At the 9-hole golf course "The Blue Monster" in Appiano, approx. 28 km from Tirolo

The leisurely cycle tours in the surrounding area lead through orchards, historic town centres or along forest roads through deciduous and mixed forests. The designated cycle paths along the Passer and Etsch rivers are particularly suitable for leisurely pedalling. The Passer cycle path can be reached from Tirolo via the Alter Tirolersteig. The entrance to the Adige Valley cycle path, on the other hand, can be reached via the Gnaidweg. But it's best to find out more about these details on the spot.

Tarmac junkie or downhill rider? A fan of mountain passes or trail pedalling? Regardless of whether you want to collect metres in altitude or kilometres – in Tirolo in the holiday region of Meran and Environs you are in the best of hands! The Jaufenpass and the Timmelsjoch are at your feet, so to speak, for collecting metres in altitude. In the Etschtal and Vinschgau valleys, you can plan a variety of routes that lead through picturesque villages, vineyards and orchards. On studded tyres, we recommend a ride into the Passeiertal Valley and towards Muthöfe, but the flowing trails in Merano 2000 should not be missing from your to-do list either.

Keep fit – with the active programme in our well-equipped fitness room: cross trainers, treadmills and other equipment are available to you free of charge. We also offer spinal gymnastics, stretch and relaxation exercises and gentle strengthening training sessions with the Theraband in small groups.
